A wine a day (for a week): from Tuscany, Lombardia, Campania

Monday: "Sassabruna Monteregio di Massa Marittima Doc 2010" -Rocca di Montemassi . From his new estate Rocca di Montemassi in Tuscany, Zonin realized this "strong" blend: sangiovese (of course), with a touch of kindness (merlot) and a bit of spicing (sirah). An international-style wine, to pair with grilled meat and a fireplace (mainly).

Tuesday; Tenuta Vicario "Fiano di Avellino Docg 2012" - Grotta del Sole. What a delightful white wine. Fragrant, floreal, smooth, full. Pastry, white chocolate, almonds, rose water, looks like a palatial cake as the renowned pastiera napoletana. A very yummy wine.

Wednesday: "Rosamara Chiaretto del Garda Doc 2012" - Costaripa. Very fruity at nose, a bit of salty at taste, long and pleasant, well balanced. Ideal summer wine

Thursday: "Maim Garda Classico Doc 2008" - Costaripa. A red wine nice and well done, though not so engaging. Slightly fruity at nose, consistent in mouth, drinkable and clean in the finish.

Friday: "Astraio Maremma Toscana Viognier 2011" Rocca di Montemassi. Slightly, gently fruity of "white" - peach, flowers, apricots - with a (very far) touch of honey, this white wine tells about mineral soils, sun and dry winds of some summertime. Pleasant and friendly on the table.

Saturday: "Paleo Rosso Bolgheri Superiore 2009" - Le Macchiole. Juicy, long, a drop of red fruits, blackcurrant with a touch of coffee. Elegant and persistent, this an amazing cab franc.
