A "pop" wine from Umbria
Nice and friendly, fruity and easy to drink - and to share. A pop wine. You don’t need other info about this wine, which name speaks for itself: “Sip No Guilt”.
It’s the new project by Briziarelli, a dynamic winery in Montefalco. The bottle is a colorful Frugalbottle (by FrugalPack, a sustainable packaging company), made from 94% recycled paperboard with a food grade pouch, closed by a screw cap. The environmental benefits are many: bottles lighter means lighter parcels too, a much lower carbon footprint, and so on. These are all values the young people are pretty sensitive to. It looks nice to me because its colors, design and name transmit a sense of lightness, fun, happy moments, and evoke gatherings with friends. Think about a picnic, a barbecue, a trip somewhere, or even some musical events to enjoy with somebody. You can bring the bottle with you along with just some glasses, and no corkscrew is needed. And when the wine is over, you can throw away everything (by glazing every part properly).
This project includes only 2 wines, so far: a red Sangiovese IGP Umbria, and a white, Umbria Bianco IGP. I tasted the red: it’s fresh and fruity with notes of plums, blackberries, white pepper, well balanced. It can fit every opportunity: a lunch with friends, a snack with bread and cold meats, your daily meal. A small treat to share with others, everybody sipping no guilt.
